According to The Dallas Journals, Highland Capital Management and its co-founder and president in James Dondero have issued a $1 million challenge grant to a Dallas, Texas based family violence awareness group. The grant that has been issued by Highland Capital Management is one that is earmarked for a fund raising campaign of The Family Place.
The Family Place is a leading organization in the Dallas area that helps support the victims of family violence. Beginning in October, The Family Place set a six month goal of raising $2.8 million in what is part of their Legacy Campaign. The donation by James Dondero certainly has helped fill a huge gap in raising the remaining funds.
The grant was funded by the Highland Dallas Foundation, Inc. This group is acutally the philanthropic association of Highland Capital Management. Highland Dallas Foundation announced that they will match 50 percent of all donations to the Legacy Campaign up to $1 million and up to the date of April 4, 2017.
