According to the article on Release Fact, on July 10th, Sujit Choudhry, the Center for Constitutional Transitions Director, joined the top constitutional team of experts in Kyiv, Ukraine. The team discussed the Ukraine government’s semi-presidential system. Also, they discussed the constitutional challenges facing the system currently. The workshop host included the major think tank in Ukraine like CPLR, International IDEA, not forgetting intergovernmental organizations that are supporting sustainable democracy worldwide.
Sujit Choudhry mentioned that it was a privilege being capable of discussing executive powers in the experts’ presence. Evidently, Choudhry went ahead, saying democratization in Ukraine hasn’t been stable. The reasons that led to the instability include weak political parties, the legislature electoral system, presidency power concentration, and other reasons.
